Gabriela Milkova Robins is a Macedonian poet and currently a SGSAH-funded PhD researcher in the School of English based at the University of St Andrews. Her work has been published in publications such as The Ekphrastic Review, DIVERSITY – International Review for Literature and Art, OKNO.MK, Zenit Magazine, Risen Magazine, and three Macedonian anthologies. Her bilingual poetry pamphlet, The Peak of Tonight, was published in 2016 by Metanoja Publishing. Do You Know the Sea?, her audible collection, was released in 2020, debuting on UK Radio.,

She is the StAnza 2023 Poet-in-Residence, given in partnership with the Edwin Morgan Trust, holding the Translation Award. For this, she produced new work in Macedonian and English for StAnza’s 2023 festival theme: “WILD: Forms of Resistance”.

She was most recently a featured artist in the annual off-page 24 visual poetry exhibition in Many Studios, Glasgow.

She has been on the committee of The Directorate of Arts and Culture – Skopje and the planning committee of StAnza – Scotland’s Poetry Festival.

Poets in Residence at the Poetry Cafe

In 2023, I was the StAnza Poetry Festival Poet-in-Residence, supported by the Edwin Morgan Trust, holding the Translation Award. As part of the month-long residency, I created new work in Macedonian and English which I performed at the festival, and I installed a collaborative visual poetry exhibit entitled “Peeking”.
